In 1920 Japan, Momiji, a charming and youthful 17-year-old girl, found herself orphaned. Fortunately, the affluent Midorikawa family had taken her in during her childhood. Her closest companion was the magnificent mare, Basilis. Momiji had fallen deeply in love with one of the Midorikawa sons, who also reciprocated the feelings. However, trouble brewed as Momiji's adoptive father, the elderly leader of the Midorikawa clan, coveted her for himself. In an attempt to flee, Momiji was caught and ultimately coerced into marrying her adoptive father. Fast forward to 1997 Japan, enough time had passed that all the earlier characters had passed away. However, new descendants had arisen, including a stunning mare christened as NeoBasilis. A fresh love triangle developed between Ryuuto, Shuka and Shikata.
