Since the CCG raid on Anteiku two years ago, the atmosphere of Tokyo has drastically changed due to the organization's increased influence. Despite ghouls being cautious, they continue to cause problems - especially for the terrorist group Aogiri Tree, who recognize the growing threat of the CCG. The Quinx Squad, a team consisting of humans who have undergone surgery to utilize ghoul-like abilities, may finally provide the CCG with the power they need to exterminate these unwanted residents. Led by Haise Sasaki - a half-ghoul, half-human trained by renowned special class investigator Kishou Arima - the team is devoted to eradicating the dangerous creatures. But Sasaki's mind is plagued by unknown memories that slowly remind him of his past self, and there may be more to him than meets the eye.
